Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are identified as having learning disabilities and/or are speech and language impaired, and therefore require individualized/group assistance.
We are located in a district considered below poverty level with an enormous amount of minority and English Language Learner-status students. Our school is located in one of the five boroughs of the city of New York. Teachers at this school care so much that we purchase as much as we can, but it can only go so far.
My Project
The classroom Flagship carpet will allow students to sit on something softer than the cold, hard floor during our mini-lessons by the smart board. The ECR4Kids Junior Classic bean bag chairs will allow some flexible seating for our young readers to find that cozy spot in the classroom.
These items will give additional seating options for my young learners to get comfy while learning.
Bean bag chairs are ideal for this purpose.
We can also use a page binder machine to help bind our classroom created books! We love to write and binding copies of our books for each child would be ideal!
