Getting Connected to Distance Learning

My Students

In the face of a global pandemic, our district has prioritized the health and safety of everyone in the school community by finishing the school year online. This opportunity presents many challenges and opportunities for both students and teachers, but fundamentally requires students to have technological access in order to learn. My district is working hard to get devices in every child's home, and in order to meet the sudden need, we are relying on community partners to help fill the gap.

My Project

An iPad is a high quality, versatile, and developmentally appropriate tool, and with it students can access all the online learning resources to continue working during this school closure. In the blink of an eye, parents became teachers and kitchen tables became classrooms, and our students (and their families) need as much support as we can give them in order to keep our students afloat. As districts and teachers continue to invest time and resources into online learning, we need to ensure that each student has reliable access to that platform, which we can do by getting a device in each child's home.
