My Project
Having access to lounge seating with a timer and sensory based materials will give all my students to the ability to engage with and continue to develop their social emotional understanding. Teaching students to understand their emotions are important for development, that is especially true for children in special education.
With new lounge seating, a timer and sensory based floor sensory squares I would be able to construct a more accessible sensory section for my students to utilize when they need an emotional break.
I encourage my students to use the words that they have when they feel overwhelmed or experiencing other big emotions. One of the best ways to give them a break is by having a section in my classroom dedicated to sensory breaks. My students already have shown an astonishing development in their emotional growth and the requested objects will aid in their continuous growth.
