Getting Comfy With a Good Book

Help me give my students flexible seating and a variety of non fiction books.

My Project

The durable bean bag chairs I have chosen will give students additional seating options during their independent reading time. During our reading rotations, students are expected to read a book of their choice for up to 20 minutes. Although they love sitting on the floor and on our plush classroom rug, being able to sit in a comfy bean bag chair will surely increase their engagement and enjoyment of their book choice. I have also chosen additional books in the Who Is/Was Book Series. Students love to read these nonfiction books and learn about famous people and places.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently about topics that interest them.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
