Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The rugs in this project will provide a comfortable, organized space where my Kinder and 1st grade students can gather for whole-group lessons, partner work, and story time. Having designated seating spots helps young learners know where to go, reduces distractions, and builds a sense of structure and security. A cozy, inviting rug also encourages students to engage more during learning time, especially in subjects like reading and social-emotional learning.
My goal is to create a welcoming and functional classroom environment where my youngest learners feel safe, focused, and ready to learn.
I want to build a strong foundation for their academic and social growth, and having soft rugs will help foster a sense of classroom community and comfort.
My students are curious, creative, and full of energy! Many are experiencing school for the first time, and they come from diverse backgrounds with unique needs. What makes them truly special is their eagerness to learn and their big hearts. They thrive in environments where they feel loved, supported, and seen—and this project will help create that space for them.
