Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The problem? Sitting alone on the cold, hard floor of the reading corner is not very attractive! These materials that I request will make a difference allowing my students to develop their skills with the equipment necessary to work in class. Glue, crayons, markers, pencils, books, are part of the key foundation of the school year by creating innovative works in our classrooms and comfortable areas to sit and read.
My students
First grade is the year in which students are expected to make the most significant progress in learning to read independently, and the best way to achieve this is by having students read as much as possible!
My project
When we talked to students about what they would like us to have in our classroom library, they mentioned a few book titles to help us get started. However, the discussion quickly turned to how uncomfortable it was to sit on the hard, cold floor. But imagine how attractive it would be to have a rug where you could sit and read books. With the creation of puppets, crafts of letters in Spanish in upper and lower case. Practice writing each phoneme, syllables and phrases. Guarantee that through these resources our students can achieve their goal in the classroom.My goal is that each student can have the necessary materials to achieve good learning in each learning area. As a teacher I can offer them an education of excellence to fully develop each potential of my students.
