My students from the Tri-City area are absolutely thrilled to have an amazing school library this year. They're curious and bright, and are looking forward to having a wonderful collection of books to enrich their lives this year.
My goal is to create a reading space that is inviting for all of the students at TMSA, from ages 5 to 13.
I want to provide a cozy lounge area perfect for kicking back with a book that will make all students feel welcome and comfortable at their library! To make this happen, I want to fill the area with bean bag chairs, blankets, and stuffed animals so the space feels warm and inviting--the perfect place to curl up with a great read!
My Project
Our school library feels a little empty, and we need some homey touches to turn it into a comfortable and inviting reading environment. When I'm not leading story times for our youngest TMSA students, the story time area will double as a reading corner for all of our K-8 students. We already have a fun rug--now it's time to fill the rest of the space!
The first step in getting our students ready to read is making sure that they feel safe and comfortable.
With the addition of bean bag chairs, blankets, and cuddly stuffed animals, they'll be right at home in the school library and ready to dive into a great book!
