Help me give my students supplies of dry erase markers, a pencil sharpener and a beautiful Solar System Orbit Rug to add to the classroom library to create a comfortable spot to seat and read.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will be used by every student in our class! The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom library and used as a gathering place during independent reading, mini-lessons, and share time. Our old markers are worn and limited, we use dry erase markers so that students may participate in engaging lessons in which students share their answers on dry erase boards. The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last, and seem to disappear.
Classroom environment is important whether students seat on a comfortable rug to snug up to a book or students come to the rug with whiteboards and dry erase markers to solve challenging math problems; students learn best when they have the tools necessary and an environment that encourages them to do their best.
Help! The pencil sharpener is sick! My class is in need of a fundamental tool that most of us would take for granted but in a classroom it is a must have. Without sharpened pencils my students get off task and tend to interrupt their peers looking for small pencil sharpeners. Donations to this project will help to improve our classroom environment by providing a colorful and comfortable rug to seat and read, complete assignments, and tools to engage in learning.
