Getting Comfy and Cozy in the 1st Grade Pod

My Project

As a 1st grade team, we have learned the importance of students feeling comfortable and safe in their space. We have been wanting to give a space like that to our students in our 1st grade pod. Being a teacher makes it hard to acquire the funds to do so. We will be using the rug, lamps, and lighting to make the space more inviting and comfortable. We want to add a book shelf to continue their love for looking at books and switch them out seasonally. Our hope is for our students to use this area for their independent work time daily.

We think it is extremely important to have a common space for your students to enjoy together.

We love watching the students come together and learn. Having a common area for them to go to gives the students a more welcoming feeling in the areas outside of their classroom. It will also help students receive another change of scenery throughout the day.
