My kindergarten classroom is a collaborative and creative space where students are excited about learning and exploration. Students spend the year learning foundational reading, writing and math skills that they will need to be successful in life.
We also focus on the social/emotional well being of each student.
We learn to share, problem solve, collaborate, create, inquire, express and show empathy to others. My students love to move, play, work together and discover new things. These 5 and 6 year olds have perseverance and grit.
My Project
My students need choice in where they sit and how the engage in their learning environment. We all have personal preferences in where we sit and when we are allowed to choose what is best for us we are more likely to be successful in our learning.
Students will be able to choose a Howda Hug floor chair with a portable lap desk or take a comfy cushion to a quiet corner.
This choice will allow my students to work where it's best for them. The flexibility of the seating options will also create the natural ability to collaborate with peers by moving seats closer together when needed.
