My Students

I have a wonderful group of second graders this year! They started the year excited to learn and have not stopped. This is a group of children who love to learn and the ability to freely move around the classroom. You can find kids sitting all around the room, especially during center time!

I want to provide the children with more options for seating around the classroom. I want them to feel comfortable and relaxed while learning.

My Project

My students come to school full of life and ready to learn! Just like you and me, students get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day. They need more flexible/comfortable seating options to enhance their engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable.

All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. I have a small round table, with 500+ piece puzzles, that is used for brain breaks. This is where the stool chairs will be used the most, i'm sure. The cushions will be used to move around the room easily, and the students will be able to use the Lap desks while on the chromebooks or working on their writing.

This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom!
