My Students

I am a special education teacher and I have the privilege of working with students grades 3-5. Many of the students I work with are very capable, but need that additional support to be successful in their learning experiences. I enjoy working with my students because I feel like I have the opportunity to share with them my excitement of learning and show each one of them their potential. My challenge is providing them resources that will meet their needs and keep them motivated and engaged in learning.

My Project

Our children are experiencing something right now that we as adults don't even know what to expect. As teachers we are worried, scared and really miss being with our students at school. One thing I know for sure is not all our students have internet access and are unable to access online resources that they could practice their reading. I want to be able to get quality text in the hands of my students, even if that means I drop a bag of books off at the end of the driveway for them to get. I want to know that I have done my part in getting books in the hands of my students so that they can take this time to practice reading some quality text, even if they don't have access to the internet.
