Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am an eighth grade teacher, in a low-income, high poverty school district. I have a class of wonderful 8th graders that consists of English language learners, special education students, and general education students who come from various ethnic backgrounds. Despite the many challenges my students face, my students come to school eager to learn and strive to do better. They ask questions and are not afraid to take risks or make mistakes.
My students are creative and active 8th graders who are passionate about their work and projects.
I want to give my amazing students the skills and tools to be their very best selves.
My Project
As we get back to school this year I am requesting some basic supplies such as Clorox/Lysol wipes, dry erase markers, and sharpies to help keep germs at a minimum and learning at a maximum in my classroom. At the end of each day, my students and I use Clorox/Lysol wipes to wipe down all the desks in the classroom. We also use many different marker colors to support many ways of learning different strategies. I believe that keeping students and teachers in a healthy and colorful environment will help contribute to teaching and learning.
My students need basic supplies to help keep down germs during cold and flu season and keep up a colorful learning experience.
It is important for me to keep germs at a minimum so that we can teach and learn in a colorful germ free environment.
