Getting Back to Better

Help me give my students a wall mounted hand sanitizer station so that we can stay safe and healthy while at school! In Social Studies, we will be learning about how Pandemics have affected people in the past.

My Students

My students are special because we have a diverse group of kids that go to school here. Our school demographics have really changed in the last 10 years. Many more of our students come from economically disadvantaged homes as well as non-US natives.

We have had many new students arrive here from Nepal in the past few years.

This has allowed the American born students a chance to learn about new cultures and traditions. My students are incredibly tolerant and empathetic towards the differences within our classroom.

With 100+ students, I have quite an eclectic mix of levels, learning styles and personalities. Their interests, strengths, and weaknesses vary from each individual.

My Project

I am spending countless hours preparing for my students that are learning from home during certain days or are learning 100% virtually. These hours will continue to be spent well into the school year. With the use of the laptop riser and wireless set-up, it will alleviate physical stress during these lessons.

On top of those typical distractions, we have now added in the health factor with COVID-19.

By having our own personal hand sanitizer station in the classroom, I am hoping to relieve any amount of anxiety that students are feeling by coming into school. We will also be learning about how Pandemics have affected people in the past and us in the future! I hope to mix in a bit of Science knowledge as well!
