Getting Active with Stretching

My students need Foam Rollers to help them get active and stretch properly. The Slipp-Nott will help with traction on our old slippery floor.

My Students

My students have a desire to learn, but the state and city have been unable to find the money to properly fund their education. Our students deserve the best and need current technology to keep up with the best practices for education. These items will help bridge that gap in class to get active!

My school is in the heart of the major urban city in Pennsylvania.

Our poverty rate is above 90 percent and more that 40 percent of our students are classified as special needs. The school is a comprehensive high school with tons of great kids who have the desire to learn. Our new principal has really began the process of turning a failing school around. Unfortunately, there is no funding for up-to-date teaching materials.

My Project

I am requesting your help in obtaining foam rollers to use in class so that the students can stretch properly while getting active in class. We are also requesting a Slip-Nott to help the students get better traction on our old floor in the gym. The students will use the foam rollers to stretch the correct way before exercising and before they get active with lessons. Stretching is the most important part of class and stretching all of the proper muscles is extremely important when trying to get active.

We have relied on donations from DonorsChoose as well as other people in the community to keep our program viable.

The kids love coming to the gym and this is the only place most of these students get any type of physical exercise. We preach daily physical activity as a means to combat obesity and other health issues that can be prevented with daily rigorous activity. We appreciate your support!
