Mrs. Gibson from Silver Spring MD is requesting professional development through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
I need the opportunity to attend the Get Your Teach On Conference in DC in order to continue growing as an educator.

Every child deserves to be in a classroom where the teacher is grateful, excited, and motivated to be there. I am so thankful to work at a small school is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Silver Spring, MD. Our staff serves a very diverse population of students. Many teachers would agree that we are very fortunate to work with such a diverse and unique group of students.
Working with such gifted students challenges me to consistently seek new knowledge in an effort to better serve my students.
My students always challenge me with the questions they ask and inspire me with their ability to persevere in order to reach their goals. In the 3 years I have been at Westover, I have grown so much. In order to continue meeting the needs of my students, I am dedicated to learn more about how to better myself as an educator.
I've always known that I was meant to be an educator. I come from a long line of educators and I am so thankful that I found a career that I'm deeply passionate about. Although I'm in my 7th year of teaching, I'm always looking to learn from others. I frequently read books related to teaching, attend professional development sessions, and watch weekly teacher vlogs to learn more.
I am very dedicated to my students and I want to take every opportunity I can to improve my craft for my students.
This conference will allow me to meet and collaborate with teachers from many other states. I will learn various tips, best practices, and gain the tools needed to continue creating an engaging, nurturing and successful classroom. As a lifelong learner, I am excited to lean more about planning more rigorous Math, Reading, Science, STEM, and Social Studies lessons. I plan on being a teacher for a long time. In order to continue developing my craft, I need to take a leap of faith, get out of my comfort zone, and challenge myself to learn from experienced teachers from across the nation.
