My Students

My students learn best when they are able to explore and experience hands-on learning. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests and needs of my students. My students are engaged most when they are able to explore and use manipulatives when learning. I am an elementary school resource room teacher (mainly students with autism and intellectual disabilities) and support children from kindergarten-sixth grade. Students on my caseload receive direct service in reading, writing, math, and life/social skills. My classroom is in need of some engaging materials like sensory toys/supplies, puzzles, and games. These supplies/activities will be used during small group, free play, and individualized instruction. I want to provide many different types of experiences so that ultimately, all of my students can experience success.

My Project

I'm looking for a teacher pick-me-up and for some of the most current research-based strategies that will light my classroom on fire! National Get Your Teach On 2019 Conference will be – a one-of-a-kind experience for K-8 teachers.

I will spend four days with Hope and Wade King and the Get Your Teach On Team as they share their passion and enthusiasm for education and give their tips, tricks, best practices, and teacher secrets to building a successful and engaging classroom.

This will leave me feeling empowered, motivated, and prepared to create dynamic lessons that will challenge my students and leave them hungry for more.
