Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students have grown tremendously since beginning school in August and have developed empathy and kindness towards others during this school year. Our classroom is a small school family, and for many of our students, this is their first experience away from home. Over the year, they have learned not only academics, but how to listen to others and to use their words to express themselves with peers, adults, and other staff on our campus. Students learned how to share materials and sit in their spaces on the carpet and in small groups. They have developed the ability to wait, celebrate others' success, help others, and advocate for themselves. I am so proud of our students and want to celebrate a fantastic year.

Throughout the year, students took schedule changes, changes in school procedures, and packing and moving to a new classroom in stride.

Students continued to come to school every day, curious and eager to learn, and continued to be kind to one another.

We want to celebrate our students' achievements as well as say goodbye to our future kindergartners by creating, dancing, and encouraging them to continue to grow and glow!

Our last week of school will consist of students designing tie-dye shirts while making observations of how adding different colors will create new colors and a work of art. We will create art on canvas with tape and paint, have fun being 4 and 5 years old with individual bubble containers, and have a glow dance party. We want the last week of our year together to celebrate the completion of their first year at our school and a positive experience for their earliest years in school.
