This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have made tremendous growth and have been resilient during this ever-changing school year. Our classroom is a small school family and for many of my students, this is their first experience away from home. Over the year, they have learned not only academics, but how to listen to others and to use their words to express themselves with peers, adults, and other staff on our campus. Students learned how to share materials, and sit in their spaces on the carpet, and in small groups. They have developed the ability to wait, celebrate others' success, help others, and advocate for themselves. I am so proud of my students and want to celebrate a fantastic year. Throughout the year, my students took schedule changes and changes in school rules/procedures in stride. Students continued to come to school every day curious, eager to learn and continue to be kind to one another.

We want to celebrate our students' achievements as well as say goodbye to our future kindergartners by creating, dancing, and encouraging them to continue to grow and glow!

Our last week of school will consist of students designing their own tye-dye shirts, creating art outside with chalk, having individual bubbles, and having a glow dance party. Whether this is the last week of their first year in Pre-K or their last year, we want it to be a positive experience for their earliest years in school.
