Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a phenomenal and motivated group of fourth-grade scholars. Many have IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), students new to our country who are learning English for the first time, scholars with various learning styles, and readers and mathematicians at various grade levels. Regardless, they all work extremely hard every day and help each other with their emotional learning and making sure everyone is doing well in class, outside the classroom, after school, or at home. The resources requested here will be used by my students to create voice-recordable greeting cards to give to other students when they are not feeling well.
My scholars will record positive/encouraging voice messages on the cards and decorate them with arts/crafts materials we have in our maker-ed classroom; in addition to the greeting cards, they will also provide a happiness journal.
Additionally, the encouragement bracelets will definitely add an extra touch of care and positive wellness wishes to other students. Our school is a community school, and we work collaboratively with other classrooms' students as well. Any of these students will benefit from the materials in this project!
