My students need access to a television since the one in my classroom is one I brought from home and no longer works.

My Students
Remember a time when our schools were fully funded and we didn't want for anything?
The item I am requesting is one that will greatly improve my classroom.
My students are extremely bright with aspirations of going on to major universities. While they are academically competitive and strive for the highest grade point averages possible, the classes comprise students whose socioeconomic backgrounds make it difficult to afford ancillary materials for class.
Since our state has dramatically cut funding, we do not receive some of the materials needed and our school has a very limited budget for resources.
As a result, the resources in my classroom are ones I purchase or are donated. More often than not, the basic necessities in my classroom are ones I have provided from home. Instead of bringing another item from home that is outdated and cumbersome, this grant will afford me the opportunity to have brand new equipment.
My Project
For the past 7 years, I have been using an old TV from home; in the middle of the last school year, it stopped working. As a result, students did not have access to a television for presentations using the laptop (the TV as a larger screen on which the computer screen was displayed) or the ability to see any type of announcements, news broadcasts, educational videos, etc.
Having a television in the classroom will grant students access to not only the news and educational materials, but it will also afford them the ability to project their work onto a larger screen.
Through this item, we will be able to work together to revise essays, view presentations, share ideas, and implement technologies that smart TVs have.
