My Students

Our school is in a high poverty area of a large urban school district. Our school in particular is almost 50% ESOL population. We service students from 36 different countries. The school is a kindergarten-8th-grade school. The students try very hard to do their best with limited English proficiency. For the most part, they pick up the English language pretty quickly. The teachers in our school do their best to assist all students.

Our team does a great job supporting these students.

My Project

Writing is an essential part of education and we need the proper tools to make sure that our students can be successful. School districts no longer supply teachers paper or pencils , so we are responsible to buy our own writing and copy paper plus pencils for the students to use. Often times, our students do not have the funds to purchase items on supply lists which these are included on.

Schools no longer supply pencil sharpeners anymore either.

These items are all essential in providing a successful educational experience for our students. We need paper, pencils and sharpeners to help our students have a smooth day in which they are given every opportunity to succeed.
