My Students

Each year my students become my family. These students are new to middle school and would be nervous about what the year would look like during normal circumstances. We'll all have to work together using our strengths to get through the challenges that this year poses.

My classroom is an engaging environment made up of a diverse population of learners excited to find connections to math and science in their daily lives.

These students have varied learning styles, which I approach with differentiated lessons. This helps students to build confidence in themselves as learners and respect each other's unique differences.

My Project

Students are expected to show multiple approaches to math problems, including drawing diagrams, and annotating their thought process. This iPad, digital pencil, and stand will allow me and my students the flexibility to model concepts directly on digital documents. These tools would also be a gateway for students to develop their independent practice.

Visuals help my students internalize academic language and make deeper connections to the concepts.

Writing out the steps to math problems is challenging and time consuming using a computer. By using the iPad and pencil I can display the steps to solving math problems and model my thought process in real time. The stand will allow for the iPad to become a document camera, allowing students to share their work and spark class discussions. The best part is that whether students are learning virtually or in the classroom, they will be able to benefit from the flexibility of these new resources that will also increase engagement.
