My Students

My elementary school services K-5 students in Philadelphia. The families and neighbors here are close and supportive. Unfortunately, the student population is 100% economically disadvantaged.

We are very proud of our school community.

We are a community of diverse students dedicated to becoming lifelong learners and productive citizens. All of the students here follow the 3 Rs which represent our core beliefs. The students are Respectful, Responsible and Ready.

My students will take full advantage of any generosity given to them. Thank you, for your consideration and time.

My Project

Teaching from home is a challenge. For my students, learning from home is even more challenging. I want to give my students the best experience they can have during distance learning. To do this I am asking for STEM and Coding Challenge cards, STEM activity books, and remote teaching equipment.

By supporting to our project you will give my students the opportunity to develop 21st century skills while distance learning.

The supplies that I am requesting will give my students choices as they work from home. Makerspace and STEM challenge activities will be planned with common items that students can find in their homes. Coding is a large part of what my students do in their digital literacy classes. Providing them challenges that they can choose from gives them a voice in their projects and develops more interest in coding as they perform preferred activates. The portable greenscreen and iPad tripod will be used for school announcements and lesson presentations.

All of the requested resources are items that my students can use when we return to schooling in person. The portable green screen backdrop will be put to use in our school Media Hub and our task cards can be used as choice cards in the makerspace and Innovation Lab. I know that my students will love using these resources!
