My Project

After 18 rewarding years as a K–5 Title Reading Specialist, I’m excited to return to the classroom as a kindergarten teacher. Working directly with young learners has always been a passion of mine—I love supporting their growth across all subject areas with problem-solving skills. While this project will help me gather the essential tools to launch my new kindergarten classroom, the true impact will be felt by my students as they start their day as innovators.

Using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in kindergarten is important because it lays a strong foundation for critical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity-driven learning from an early age.

Resources like tinker toys, gears, magnets, and marble runs will offer my students a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities through play and exploration. These engaging tools will not only spark curiosity and encourage them to ask questions about how things work but will also help strengthen their collaboration and communication skills as they work together and share ideas.

As I embark on this new journey in my teaching career, I’m especially passionate about nurturing creativity through fun, hands-on experiences. Young learners will inevitably face challenges—and that’s where the real learning happens. I aim to create an environment where students understand that mistakes are part of the process and that perseverance leads to growth. With your support, my students will have the opportunity to explore, ask questions, and discover how things work. Thank you for helping me create a classroom that will inspire and support young minds for years to come!
