My Students

I am a teacher of 19 wonderful first grade kiddos who come to school excited and ready to learn. They are eager to see their friends and to see what the day holds for them.

I teach at a Title 1 School in Florida where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Numerous students also receive a backpack of food to take home on the weekends. Despite the hardships that some of the students face, they are willing to put their best efforts in to become the best first graders they can be!

My Project

The journals, chart paper and markers will help my first grade kiddos develop their writing skills. I will be able to model writing skills with the markers and large chart paper. The students will then be able to write independently in their journals while also having a space to illustrate their creations!

These journals will be given to each student, as many of the students at my school don't come with the supplies that they need!

Budgets have been cut drastically and the families don't have the resources to purchase everything that their child should come to school with. It is imperative that students have a place to organize their ideas and let their creative juices flow!
