Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are getting ready for a new year! All of the items listed are things that we use daily in our class. All of the writing and art utensils are kept in their pencil cases. This includes pencils, crayons, glue sticks, and scissors. We use these materials for assignments and artwork done during recess or at other times throughout the day. Having them keep their materials with them helps to teach them responsibility and accountability. Their pencil cases are kept in their chair sacks. The folders are for their homework that will go home every night. These folders need to be durable because some of our scholars sometimes don't have a bookbag or travel from place to place such as the afterschool program or another relative's house before getting home to their grown-up. The Play-Doh is simply for breaks and students who are overstimulated. My students would greatly benefit from all of these materials and they would truly be appreciated!
