My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. They are a joy to teach and will keep you on your toes with what they will say and do. I try every day to shine a light on the little things that they do that make them unique and individual. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at a Title I school in rural Alabama.
Many of my students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
Moving to a new grade level means starting a classroom library over. I feel like it is a necessity for every classroom to have a wonderful selection of books for students to read. This summer I am working on exactly that, building a new classroom library. I am moving from 3rd grade to 5th/6th grade. I have very few books from my 3rd grade classroom library that I can use now.
I would love to start the new school year off with new books for my students!
I know my students will not only love new novels and books for our classroom library, but they will also love to get the TIME for kids subscriptions. The TIME for kids will allow my students to read up to date information and stories about relevant topics. This subscriptions will allow my students to read material that they enjoy and learn information without realizing that they are learning.
