My Project

This year marks a major milestone for our school—physics is returning for the first time in three years, and it's now a dual credit course! With 30 students already enrolled—the highest in the last 20 years—there’s a renewed excitement for science learning. Even more, over 90 students in physical science will benefit from the same resources, making this an investment that impacts nearly every student in our science program.

Help me give my students a Go Direct Dynamics System, complete with tracks, carts, and timers, to transform how we study physics.

These tools will allow students to conduct real, hands-on investigations into collisions, acceleration, velocity, force, momentum, and both kinetic and potential energy. They’ll dive deep into Newton’s Laws of Motion and beyond, gaining valuable experience with equipment they’ll encounter in college labs or technical careers.

Many of my students come from poverty backgrounds and have had limited access to hands-on science. In the past, they’ve mostly relied on online simulations. I am committed to changing that by giving them real tools and meaningful lab experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and true understanding. These dynamic systems will not only enhance our new dual credit physics course, but also enrich our physical science classes, giving all students a chance to engage in scientific inquiry and problem-solving.

Whether students are college-bound or entering a trade, understanding science and using technology are essential skills for their futures. We are offering more dual credit classes than ever before, and this project is a crucial step toward preparing our students for success in any path they choose.
