My Project

My students are always excited to get outside and play games. As a teacher, after school club advisor, and volleyball coach, with these materials, I will be able to let my students and athletes get outside and participate in volleyball and pickleball.

With an increase in obesity and sedentary screen time, I need to create opportunities for my students to be active.

These outdoor activities will provide brain breaks so they can return to the classroom ready to focus. Daily activity can also lead to better sleep patterns, which can lead to increased engagement in lessons.

Offering these outdoor activities can incentivize completion of class work, and thereby increase student learning. For my after school volleyball and pickle ball clubs, students will be able to improve their skills and get some physical activity. For my volleyball team, periodically giving them a different setting can rejuvenate their love for the sport. Additionally, I can allow students to use the materials during their lunch free time—expanding the reach of students that will benefit from this equipment.
