My Project

The key to success in my classroom is organization and flow! Teenagers may have the best of intentions, but even the most studious teen has lost an assignment or missed a due date from time to time. That is why I have developed a flow in my classroom that enables ALL students to transition into learning while keeping on top of their assignments and due dates.

Giving students the time and tools to transition into learning jumpstarts their success.

Students begin their day by entering the room and gathering their class folder (color-coordinated by period) and their notebook. They take their seats, open their notebooks, and complete a 10-minute silent write. This is followed by an introduction into the day's lesson with an entry into their learning logs, where assignments and due dates are tracked. At the end of the period, all of their work is put back into their folders and returned to a safe storage bin. Gone are the days of losing a paper to the backpack black hole! This system allows students to demonstrate their learning without the stress of losing all of their hard work.
