My students need 5 organizational carts to keep their classroom work and supplies organized and readily available for class.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. O'Neill's classroom raised $213
This project is fully funded
My Students
You arrive in the classroom ready to learn, but you realize that you are not completely prepared. You forgot to pack a writing utensil or to refill your binder with paper. In some cases, you misplace your worksheet from a prior lesson. This happens many times to my students.
My students are of adolescent age and attend a K-8 school in New York that is both Title I and Title 3.
They are of a low socio-economic status. Many times, they do not come in with pens or looseleaf paper which prevents them from getting to work right away. Other times, students may lose the handouts they were given during a previous lesson. This can make staying on task and focused on learning hard, not only for them, but for the students that are asking to borrow supplies from during class time. My students need to stay on task and focused from the moment they come in to be able to understand the curriculum.
My Project
The 5 organization carts will be placed next to each group of tables. Within the cart will be supplies such as pens, pencils, and looseleaf paper for students to complete their work with. This will allow students to stay focused for the entire class time. The cart will also contain extra copies of handouts for those students who were absent or misplaced their original copy. In addition, from each group, there will be a student who monitors the cart. He/She will be in charge of handing out and/or collecting the borrowed materials. This will teach leadership skills to the student who is placed in charge of the cart.
With your donations, the organization carts will make learning flow smoothly from the minute the student enter the classroom until the bell rings.
The time it takes students to find supplies will be diminished, for now they will have the supplies at their fingertips. These carts will be used not only by the current year students, but by all students for years to come.
