My Students

In my second grade classroom, each student is an essential puzzle piece to make our classroom whole. My students come to school eager to learn through hands-on experiences. Teaching in a Title I school located in a small rural community has given me the special role of working closely with families, the community and my colleagues to support the needs of my students to help them succeed academically and social-emotionally.

As an educator, my goal is to create hands-on experiential learning for my students.

My students thrive off of inquiry-based learning and taking autonomy of their own academic journey. As their teacher, I like to provide experiences that help pique their curiosity and let their love for learning blossom. I believe that an early foundation for a love of learning paves the way for future success.

My Project

This project will assist in covering the cost of registration for the "Get Your Teach On" Conference in Connecticut this fall of 2019. Conference presenters include Amy Lemons and Hope King who will present on teaching strategies that will motivate and reach all students. Topics that they present on include, using music as an educational tool, creative review games, reading comprehension strategies, and community builders to boost student achievement and success. This professional development opportunity will allow me to learn new strategies to capture the interest and reach all of my students using fresh and engaging techniques. Thank you for your consideration and for providing my students and myself with the opportunity to experience the exciting ideas that "Get Your Teach On" always delivers each year!
