I cannot do this yet!” I truly believe teachers MUST teach students what it means to learn to make a huge difference in their academic success.
My students are a diverse group of which some are speaking English as a second language, some with learning disabilities, and others that are achieving beyond grade level expectations.
More than 75% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Even with the obstacles they face, they are a motivated group of kids with hearts of gold.
I am going to the Get Your Teach on Conference in Charlotte, NC on October 8th and 9th. My conference has been paid for so now I am looking into transportation, food, and lodging during my visit. This conference will help me learn new strategies and ways to engage my students. I am so excited that I am getting this amazing opportunity. By helping me with the costs of travel, I am going to have the experience of a lifetime. I will be able to take this new knowledge back to my classroom to help my students succeed each and every day.
This project will equip me with the tools to revitalize my school culture.
It will allow me to gain effective engagement strategies like classroom transformations and gaming in the classroom to boost both teacher and student morale. It will help me in building the culutre of collaboration and fun to really have an impact on both the teachers and students that I serve, while also working to increase student achievement in Literacy and Math.
