My Students

My school is in a small, rural community in northern-lower Michigan. For the most part, my students come from a very low, socioeconomic status. Most depend on free or reduced rate breakfast and lunch, and food backpacks that are sent home weekly.

These kids are truly some of the most loving and compassionate students I know.

Every year, in lieu of a Christmas present exchange, my first graders collect and donate presents to a local children's hospital. They are a curious, hardworking, and a kind hearted group of children.

My Project

I'm requesting some outdoor ride-on toys for my students to use. These toys that I am requesting are swivel cars so you need to move to make the cars move. It requires a lot of gross motor movement and could work perfectly on the cement basketball course.

I want the first graders to have one special thing that they can do on the playground.

When the kids go outside, they have a few outdoor structures to play on, but can be limited based on having to share the playground with others grades. These swivel cars will be a fun option for the students!
