Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Literacy is a key focus at our school, and with an 80% MLL/ ENL population, students need access to rich, engaging texts they can connect to.
Game by Walter Dean Myers will be used to support students gain a love of reading and learn how to make connections, visualize, questions, and develop a life-long habit of reading.
Developing the skills to analyze, critique, and use those skills to become active, engaged citizens by being able to think deeply about what they read, whether it's an ad on a bus, a newspaper article, or a legal document, they will be able to think for themselves.
