My Students

I teach at a Title 1 school in Mississippi. The majority of students are minority and come from low socioeconomic families. While they struggle to have basic needs met before coming to school, they are eager to be here and learn!

My Project

When students have a clean environment and have a full belly they are able to focus on learning. Some of my students come to school hungry and what is served is either not enough or they are picky and won’t eat what is in the cafeteria. We also eat at 10 everyday so by the end of the day they are hungry.

With the cold, flu, and Covid always creeping around, you can never have enough disinfectant or Kleenex!

We go through so much Kleenex and mask. It’s good to have extras on hand!
