My Project

My students begin working on their multiplication and division facts very early in the school year. I love and appreciate their drive to learn different strategies for multiplication and division. Of all the math operations, multiplication and division may be the hardest for kids to learn. Tackling these skills is the logical next step after addition and subtractions.

To learn multiplication and division, kids use hands-on materials and visual models to break down numbers and build the concept.

Most kids know how to use basic facts while some need a little more time and practice to fully understanding the concept.Giving them opportunities to interact with the different manipulatives will be an opportunity for the to develop ownership of their learning.
