Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an awesome group of fourth-grade students. They amaze me every day with their curiosity and eagerness to learn. My students are not strangers to hardships as they come from a neighborhood that experiences high poverty, making us a Title l-funded school. My students come from diverse backgrounds that include recent immigrants from South America. Most of my students speak a language other than English at home. They are all happy children who come from families who work hard to make our school a caring and supportive community.
My students love our school community and learning every day.
They are especially happy to be back in the classroom this school year. I am continually inspired by my students' enthusiasm for life as they build a positive future for themselves and their community. I am truly honored to serve my students and look forward to seeing what great things they accomplish in the future!
My Project
PE and recess is often my students favorite part of their school day. Having good working sports equipment is vital for students to get the most out of this time. Jump rope and basketball are two favorite activities for my students but we only have 2 each for the whole class.
I would like to be able to lead my class in new, fun jump rope and basketball skills.
I am asking for a class set of jump ropes plus a CD with music and activities to help us learn new skills. New basketballs will help ensure the children will stay active during recess and get their heart rates up!
