Mr. Hartman from Baltimore MD is requesting a class trip through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students an amazing field trip opportunity on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.

Why are my students amazing? My students are amazing because many of them come from backgrounds that are challenging, but they never let it hold them down.
My students work hard at school, and that's why I work hard for them.
I make sure that state and city budgets don't limit my students' learning. I make sure that they get what they need to learn and to thrive in lessons big and small—and you are a big part of that!
Our 5th grade students are going on a truly amazing field trip for 3 days and 2 camp-out nights to the shores of the Chesapeake Bay where they learn so much about the Bay, about nature, and about themselves. From canoeing through a near-by swamp, to night hikes through the forest, to high-ropes courses and zip-lining; this trip is about as great as it can be.
My students never forget this trip - even well into adulthood - but with rising costs and shrinking budgets, many of my students may be left out.
After finding 2 grants, we were able to bring the price down. With your help, we can offer partial and full scholarships to our neediest students to ensure that income level does not determine who gets to enjoy this amazing experience.
This trip is by far the best field trip I have experienced during my 12 year teaching career. It changes how our students see the environment, and builds friendships amongst students that somehow never develop within our normal classroom walls.
Thank you for believing that ALL students deserve a great education - you really are making a difference in the lives of my students.
