Adventure awaits in this classroom full of smiling, hilarious kiddos. My students are eager to learn and always up for new experiences. They are flexible and resilient. Not only have they endured Hurricane Harvey, but they also underwent a big transition when moving into my classroom. We became a classroom family halfway through this year when I was hired on as a new 2nd grade teacher in November.
These sweet friends are always willing to try and give their best, whatever that may be.
Our classroom theme is camping which pairs nicely with their adventurous spirits. We have greatly enjoyed building new relationships, and adapting to our new normal in Ms. Smith's room. Each day is an adventure and I can't wait to see how you will join us!
My Project
I am requesting balance balls and wobble chairs to serve as flexible seating options in my classroom.
With students as active and adventurous as mine, seating that allows them to wiggle and move while they work is a game changer.
I believe that having these seating options will not only aid in creating an engaged learning environment, but it will also allow students to take ownership of their learning. This type of classroom set up creates a space where students are free to choose while also growing in them responsibility and an understanding that their choices have the ability to impact their learning.
