My Students

Our students range from ages 4 to 5. A majority of our families are either middle or low socioeconomic status. Our school is located close to a military base, and therefore we are a highly mobile student body.

Pre-K students are highly tactile and visual learners.

They also have a great need to move their bodies while learning. They learn best with hands-on experiences and from watching others around them. We try our best to engage all students in learning by targeting these learning styles.

My Project

Pre-K students are not meant to sit still. They are made to move and explore the world around them. Many classrooms have students with special needs and require accommodations to help ensure they are successful in school. My classroom is no exception.

By adding a low table and soft seats my students will have another choice for seating that fits their needs for engagement.

This table and chairs will be a great addition to our flexible seating plan for my special need students. Low tables will create a comfortable environment that encourages learning on their level. Since regular seating can be uncomfortable for little learners, sitting close to the floor is a great option.
