Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many students choose to visit the library during nutrition and lunch as an alternative space. They're often the quieter kids who come in alone to read, draw, or even knit. While literature is a big part of my job, so is providing a safe space where students feel excited to explore and socialize.
I would like to provide my library patrons the opportunity to engage with others through a variety of arts and crafts.
By creating a cozy art nook and supplying it with creative activities, I'll be helping students make new friendships and have fun. Something as simple as laughing over a shared coloring project can be very beneficial to their social emotional learning.
