Help me give my students a large cozy rug for our meeting area! This plain navy blue rug will help create a calm, warm, and peaceful learning environment.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Grace's classroom raised $500

My Students
My students and their families have sought out and selected our school to provide an enriching educational environment for their children. Our integrated units of study provide multiple entry points for learning to meet the varied learning needs of all students. Through these studies, students learn how to learn.
They truly take on the roles of researchers, engineers, scientists, nutritionists, and mathematicians.
Almost all of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My students understand that they have a place in the world and are more than capable of making an important contribution. They learn to become flexible, resilient, and creative thinkers who are able to work collaboratively and solve problems.
My Project
Where is your favorite place to curl up with a cozy book? Is it on a hard tile floor? I didn't think so... My students spend a lot of time learning together on our large meeting rug. The rug I currently have is worn out, dirty, and overly colorful. It has more than 30 multi-colored boxes with designs on them. It's distracting and overstimulating.
My students deserve a comfortable, calming meeting area in the classroom they spend seven hours each day in.
I am requesting a large, plain, navy blue carpet. Dark blue hues have proven to have calming effects on students. Additionally, having a plain rug (with no dividing boxes) allows each child to take up the space they are comfortable in.
Your donation will not only make a noticeable difference in my students' actual learning, but also in their desire to come to school and learn in our classroom everyday. Furthermore, this space will help improve instruction by appealing to all learners and creating a caring and sharing classroom community. Together, we can lead my students to achieving their greatest academic potential.
More than half of students from low‑income households
