My Students

I work at a Title I school. We are in a suburban community. My students are between 5 and 6 years old. More than half of my students are below the poverty line, they come from diverse backgrounds. My students are sweet, eager learners. They are so eager to learn and want to put their hands on everything! They always enjoy the learning that can be found in our classroom.

Each student in my class is valued.

I put a strong priority on making sure that each student leaves my class with the readiness they need for First Grade. In Kindergarten, one of the best practices for teaching and developing skills is combining sensory experiences.

We are looking for partners to help our class grow!

My Project

The students in my classroom have a difficult time remaining focus and staying in their seats. Due to the work that we do during the day finding ways to help students stay seated and focused is crucial. Aside from the usual brain breaks, taking walks and dancing away the wiggles, a chair or cushion to help them stay seated would go a long way. I want them to enjoy sitting for longer lessons and to obtain new information while doing so. I am trying every and any option to help my students succeed.
