My Students

I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten this year! I have taught a multitude of different age levels during my career, but kindergarten is one of my favorites. Kindergartners are such curious, excited, and sweet kids. They are always willing to try new things and are amazed by all their new experiences.

I am passionate about early childhood education because early learning is the foundation of our lives.

Making an impact on students at an early age really sets the stage for their entire academic career and beyond. I want learning to be exciting and comfortable for all students, no matter their previous life experiences. Students will feel supported, loved, and cared for in my classroom.

My Project

I plan to use this rug as a guide for where students should sit while I instruct during whole group time. I plan to read stories, engage in book discussions, share stories about their experiences, and come together as a group to learn and have fun!

The rug has various colored alphabet circles I can use to guide instruction for learning colors and the alphabet.

We can even play games using the different attributes of the rug. There also may be some spur of the moment dance parties on this rug! The children will really enjoy having a soft, comfortable, colorful rug to sit on when they come to school.
