My Project
My students love reading in our reading corner, but wish there were more comfortable spots for them. Many of them end up being uncomfortable sitting on the hard, cold floor. But imagine how inviting it would be to have this child-sized couch to curl up on while enjoying a book by yourself! My students would love to be able to choose a comfortable spot all around the room. The problem is that right now we don't have many cozy spots. I know that if I fix this seating problem with a child-sized couch, my students will be flocking to the reading corner in no time!
A classroom should be a welcoming place where students are comfortable enough to put all their attention towards learning.
With only straight-back chairs at desks and the hard floor as seating, my students often avoid tasks that require a lot of sitting still, like independent reading practice. With your help, I can transform our reading corner into our room's most inviting spot by providing a comfy seating option!
