My students need a comfy spot to read and relax. The use of reading pillows, and beanbag chairs will help students to unwind and get consumed in a good book!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Make today the day to learn something new". This is a quote that my class truly makes happen, especially when reading. My students read everyday and learn a new skill to be infused in their reading during reading workshop. They love to get pulled into a good book and with these items they can!
My students are energetic and eager to learn.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch each day. Most of my students come from a Hispanic or African American descent. Students come from families where most family members speak a language other than English at home, so my students truly work hard to complete their work. Although my students deal with a lot during their everyday lives, it does not stop them from coming to school and working hard. My students truly love to read and use reading as a way to enjoy learning and learn new things.
My Project
These resources will truly enhance the environment of my classroom and will make my students feel like they are welcomed and at home when reading. These pillows and beanbags will be used mostly during reader's workshop during independent silent sustained reading. I envision students using these resources as a way to be relaxed while reading and to allow for all the focus to be on the meaning of the words rather than being uncomfortable at their desks or worrying about where to read and be comfortable. My students will learn to take turns to use these pillows and beanbags and will learn to respect them and keep them in good condition. My students will also learn how important it is to read and be comfortable and to focus on connecting to what is being read and to focus on the meaning of the story at hand.
These donations will truly improve the flow of reader's workshop in the classroom and will allow for a comfy reading corner to be established in the classroom.
These resources will change my students' lives for the better by allowing them to be comfortable when reading and to see how much fun it is to read and unwind in a good book!
