Help me give my students the support to build a stronger vocabulary and have phonemic awareness. The little level readers and fiction sight word books are a great way to sound out the letters and improve their reading.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have the biggest hearts. They are funny and silly at times and that brings a smile to everyone. They show respect for adults and other students. They are willing to help one another and show that they are ready to learn. I would love my team to give each student that extra support to take home more school materials and use them in both places when we return to school. My students look forward to coming to school and learning different strategies while we practice fun hands-on activities. We have students from different grade levels that join our group and they look forward to returning to class and socializing with their peers.
My Project
School is in session and students are eager to pick up books and read. Learning to read isn't so easy for some students, to sound it out and to read out the word children are more motivated to read. Some students struggle when blending words and The little leveled reader and sight word books have a simple text and the illustrations are perfect to have to support word recognition and help understand to improve their reading skills. Rhyming words are being introduced and flashcard visuals help students hear the sounds. Learning rhyming word puzzles will help develop their phonological skills.
