This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A new school, a need school year, and a new classroom game. Not to mention a new theme: mystery literature. We will be uncovering the mysteries of English for both English Learners and English Dominant students in the 8th grade, so it is necessary that I re-theme my classroom game to fit the bill. My old class game has been a success every year, but it is time to give up the race track for a game that speaks to the higher problem solving skills of 8th graders.

By playing a game of Clue, my students will get a THE clue about how to behave for success.

The magnets are the game pieces that will move when the large dice are rolled. The dice are only rolled if the students earn enough behavior points to get a turn for the day. The lollipops are for the short term rewards to condition them to compete for the grand prize of solving the bigger mystery: A "tea party" in class with all kinds of free snacks and drinks. The wooden on-lays are craft items that will go into the detail work in the room's decoration to add to the overall theme.
